Challenge

In Indonesia, children with Down Syndrome face significant challenges in accessing adequate therapy. On average, they receive only 2 hours of therapy per week—drastically lower than the recommended 5 hours per day. This substantial gap in care limits their developmental progress and reduces the effectiveness of therapy. Coupled with limited resources and high costs, families are often left struggling to provide the support their children need. Addressing this issue is crucial to ensuring these children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Vocaloom was created to address these challenges by providing a flexible, accessible solution. This interactive storybook app allows parents to conduct expressive speech therapy at home, making it possible to overcome the limitations of therapy hours, costs, and resources. Through engaging stories, interactive prompts, and an intuitive design, Vocaloom helps children practice identifying objects, repeating words, and improving pronunciation in a fun and effective way. By providing a solution that is both affordable and accessible, Vocaloom empowers families to give their children the therapy they need, without the financial burden, logistical challenges, or limitations of traditional therapy.
